When administering Flower essences to birds, the essences should be diluted regardless of the stabilizer used. Birds are very sensitive and etheric, and most essences and stabilizers, straight from the bottle, are too strong for their delicate systems. Veterinarians and bird rehabilitation specialists find that diluted essences not only are safer for a bird’s delicate system, but also they actually have a more potent healing and an emotionally balancing effect on birds. Some avian specialists find flower essences the most powerful when diluted to homeopathic potencies.
Instructions for Dilution:
Obtain a sterile, empty one ounce dropper bottle (this can be ordered from Anaflora) and fill it with distilled water. Add three drops of the original Anaflora formula or essence of your choice. Shake it several times, and use this second bottle to administer the essence to your avian friend. The simplest method of administration is to put two drops of the second dilution into the bird’s water daily.
Your second bottle should be refrigerated when not being used and discarded every two weeks. Even though you are discarding the dilution periodically, the original bottle of essence will last a long time because you are using only a few drops of the essences each time you fill the second bottle. Please note that if you give the essences directly, and the dropper comes in contact with the bird’s beak or tongue, the essences should be discarded every few days because they will lose their potency and sterility.
Many people with avian companions add essences to a bowl of water, place it near the bird’s cage, and get wonderful results simply by allowing the essence-water to evaporate into the atmosphere. Or if you have a fountain in your home, essences added to the fountain water will evaporate in the same way. When using the evaporation method, use the essences at full strength, three to five drops to a small bowl or fountain.
Another effective way to administer essences to birds is to lightly mist the atmosphere by using spray tops (which can also be ordered from Anaflora) on your bottles. Use your second dilution bottle to mist the environment.
Avian veterinarians and wild bird rehabilitation specialists have used Anaflora essence therapy for animals for years oft-times transformative results.
It’s interesting to note that wild bird sanctuaries report that owls, hawks, and other wild birds enjoy having the flower essences drop by drop on the tip of their beak, and that these birds open their beaks and flap their wings excitedly when their keeper approaches with the essence bottles.”
Additional notes from Elizabeth:
Essences are unlike Western medicine in the sense that perfect dosages are not required, only that the essence come in contact with the animal, so you don’t need more than a couple drops.
Taking the essence with your animal, if you’re willing to do so, is the best approach as it will harmonize your energies as healing takes place. You should just drop 3-5 drops under your tongue daily, trying not to touch your tongue to the dropper so as not to contaminate the bottle. The essence can be taken by all the birds and animals in a multi-animal household and will have the effect of harmonizing the energy of all the beings in the household. The essences can do no harm and contain only the virtues of the various plants from which they are made. Therefore, they are beneficial for everyone in the household, in addition to the bird or animal being treated.
If you can connect with your wishes for your bird (and yourself if you take it as well) to heal as you give him the essence, that would be great. If you have a spiritual tradition that is meaningful to you, you can use something from that tradition, such as a brief prayer or blessing, as well if you like.
